    The Grand Raven Salon is a suite concept inside Sola Salons located in the Alpine Summit Shopping Area. The Grand Raven Salon was created by sought-after celebrity hairstylist and makeup artist, Emily McKim. With nearly 13 years of experience in top salons throughout Denver and Los Angeles, Emily graduated with honors from the Paul Mitchell Academy in Denver, Colorado. She then, with tireless efforts, started breaking into her dream job of becoming a hair and makeup artist for the movies. It was at that time the decisions was made to make the move to Los Angeles where she started transforming red-carpet celebrities and stars onset. Emily has had the amazing opportunity to work and train with some of the biggest names in the industry from LA to New York, and even internationally in London, England. She has worked on some of your favorite celebrities and has had the privilege to work with productions such as: Netflix, Hulu, MTV,CMT,  NBC, ABC, Mandalay Pictures, HBO and many more.

Emily is known for working her magic, specializing in balayage / ombre highlighting, as well as formulating all different realms of custom colors and color correction techniques. Emily also specializes in her signature Victoria Secret bombshell volume styling, blowouts, haircuts and even adding extra length for her clients with keratin method extensions. 

​Emily decided it was time to bring Denver and Los Angeles’ Luxury high end quality salon experiences to the city of Grand Rapids. The Grand Raven Salon is built on open communication, an exceptional experience from beginning to end, and of course a sprinkle of Hollywood glamour to each and every client that sits in her chair. The core focus of The Grand Raven Salon is to build relationships and trust with every client before evolving their look, keeping the integrity of your hair Emily’s top priority.

Emily takes her time to listen and establish a clear vision before beginning any service with you so that you leave the salon feeling fabulous, fresh, beautiful and confident to take on the day.
